My Formula 5000
For Chuck Sarich, 1972 was a banner year —two championship
crowns and SCCA’s Kimberly Cup, a highly distinguished award
presented to the driver showing the greatest improvement in
competition during the past year. Sarich opened the 1972 season by
competing in on invitational two-race Formula B series in Bogota,
Columbia, where he drove his Quicksilver March 722 to sixth and fifth
place finishes, respectively. In the SCCA professional Formula B
Championship series he scored four second-place finishes and one
victory, at Road America. His reward for consistency was the Formula
B Championship crown. In 1972 SCCA National Championship road
racing, Sarich campaigned the some Quicksilver March 722 to second
place in the Southeast Divisional F/B standings, earning an invitation
to the  American Road Race of Champions where he sailed to victory.
For the 1973 season, Chuck will be driving the Quicksilver Racing
McRae GM1/Chevy.
