A stalwart in the increasing number of dentist/race drivers, Syd
Demovsky began his racing career behind the wheel of a Lotus Seven
in 1965. He quickly qualified for his regional and national competition
licenses and continued racing the Lotus through the 1966 season. An
AUSCA Formula B car followed for the 1967-68 seasons. Although
without much success. Demovsky entered three pro Formula B events
in 1969, then bought a Brabham BT29 for four more events in 1970.
He will be Gus Hutchison’s H.R.E. teammate during the 1973 L&M
season, his first on the Formula 5000 trail.
